CNET Content Solutions Powers Microsoft's New Digital Marketing Platform

August 10, 2011 (San Francisco, CA) CNET Content Solutions (CCS), a division of CBS Interactive, has expanded its relationship with industry leader, Microsoft Corporation (MSFT). Microsoft is leveraging CCS’s newest service, ContentCast™ in order to maximize its global digital marketing presence through this real-time content and brand syndication service.

Microsoft’s Digital Commerce and Campaign Network (DCCN), powered by ContentCast, will enable Microsoft to easily extend their marketing campaigns and detailed product information throughout their partner e-commerce sites. DCCN, which launched to Microsoft partners on July 1st, also gives Microsoft and their partners insight into how well these campaigns and information are activated by distributors and resellers. The Microsoft’s DCCN service enables Microsoft to:

  • Provide a real-time online publishing connection to Microsoft Partner e-commerce sites enabling rapid, global reach of campaigns.
  • Gain insight into content usage and performance through comprehensive reporting details.
  • Tap into the broad CNET Content Solutions distribution network of over 3,000 global channel partners, which creates core messaging and execution consistency across markets.
  • Create product interest and potentially increase sales by educating customers as they research and buy Windows-based devices and Microsoft software online.


CNET Content Solutions and Microsoft have had close collaboration since 2009 when Microsoft used the CCS Logo Service (which is now a component of ContentCast), to promote adoption of the ‘Microsoft Office Ready Logo Program’. Due to the success of the ‘Office Ready Logo Program’, Microsoft extended the program to include ‘Windows Server 2008 R2 Logo Program’.

Microsoft intends to use this expanded relationship with CNET Content Solutions to further increase adoption and awareness of their e-commerce and content syndication solutions. The ‘Windows Client Program’, for example, educates and encourages customers on a Microsoft Partner e-commerce site to add a Windows 7 OEM License along with their purchase of Windows 7 compatible components. The program also features marketing of high performance, stylish devices from some of Microsoft’s most strategic OEM partners that distributors and resellers promote to their customers.
