SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - November 15, 2005 Striving to better serve our customer's needs, CNET Channel is in the process of improving our UNSPSC classification option and enabling support of multiple UNPSC versions -- including a number of older versions released by ECCMA and UNDP.
To be able to support multiple versions, we will introduce three new tables to the DataSource™ client export schema (download.zip). Initially, these tables will co-exist with the UNSPSC tables we currently use to distribute UNSPSC data. After a five-month transition period (on May 15, 2006), we plan to stop delivering the old UNSPSC tables. These tables will be added to the client export schema on December 5, 2005:

The new UNSPSC versioning service will become available to our DataSource customers in January 2006. At this time you will receive further communications on technical and pricing details. To learn more about UNSPSC classification please refer to the UNDP web site.
